Echo & The Bunnymen | My Kingdom
It’s strange how they this song can be both dark in its lyrics yet remain an uplifting song. It seems to me to be about an argument, and its violent imagery and McCulloch’s sharp pronunciation of some words leave it packed with emotion. The central riff is so calm too, there’s something very cathartic about the return to the verse from the chorus.
